# Installation

## On a computer

This installation method requires the `http` API to be available.
:::

1. Execute `wget run https://github.com/unicornpkg/libunicornpkg/releases/latest/download/install.lua`.
2. Add `/bin` to your `shell.path`. There is a script to bootstrap this, available by executing `/bin/hoof install unix-path-bootstrap`, and then restarting your system.

## Through a datapack

If you want to make unicornpkg available on all computers, [there is a datapack available](https://github.com/unicornpkg/libunicornpkg/releases/latest/download/datapack.zip). The datapack is also available [from Modrinth](https://modrinth.com/project/l8CMTDjk) and [CurseForge](https://www.curseforge.com/projects/1593742). Many Minecraft launchers support installing datapacks directly from these platforms; consult your launcher's documentation.
